The Atmosphere Of The Fieldhouse

The atmosphere at Bankers’ Life Fieldhouse during a Pacers’ game is one that cannot be stifled.

I was at my 5th Pacers’ game of the season on February 13 against the Milwaukee Bucks and, even though it was a loss, the atmosphere there was electric. During the third and fourth quarters of that game the Pacers rallied to take a 10 point lead against the Bucks. There was a moment before that 10 point lead that I truly felt the electricity running through the Fieldhouse. The Pacers were up 6 and running down the court. The ball was swung to Wesley Matthews and he pulled up for three. Now obviously you know, I am a gigantic Pacers fan. I mean I have a blog dedicated to them, but what you may not know is I give every ounce of energy I have to the Pacers when sitting in the stands. So back to the story, Matthews pulled up for three, so I stood up and as soon as I saw that it was going in, I prepared. I put my hands together, pulled the arrow back and let it fly along with employee number 23. Which led to a double fist pump and yelling, “LET’S GO.” The Pacers lost this game in the long run, but the atmosphere and the memories will never be forgotten. I have had so many of those moments while watching the Pacers. The Fieldhouse is the best place to watch basketball and nothing anyone will ever say will change my mind.
