This morning I woke up in a good mood. The Pacers had won 7 in a row and the Colts had won 6 of their last 7. The Pacers beat the Knicks and the Colts dismantled the Cowboys. So I did not think anything could make this day better, but come to find out I was wrong. Today the Indiana Pacers made history. They made the right kind of history. Today they hired Kelly Krauskopf as their new Assistant General Manager.

Not only is Krauskopf a great addition for the Pacers’ organization she is also the first female Assistant General Manager in NBA History. She has one hell of a resumé also. She is a long time WNBA executive. Before she started her new journey with the Pacers she was the first Director of Basketball Operations of the WNBA in 1996 and was with a WNBA team, the Indiana Fever, for 17 years as both the President and General Manager. In 2013 the Fever brought a championship to the state of Indiana and had three total appearances in the WNBA Finals. Krauskopf was there for all of this.

After 17 years with the Fever she relinquished her duties to oversee the Pacers Esports league for a year. Now the Pacers are adding a proven champion to their organization. Krausopf spoke to the media today where she stated. “My past experience has shown me that building winning teams and elite level culture is not based on gender - it is based on people and processes. I am excited to join the Pacers as we continue building the the best NBA franchise in the business.” This addition is a great for the Pacers, the NBA, and Krauskopf. So as she becomes the first woman to be an Assistant General Manager in the NBA I am proud to say that it is with the Indiana Pacers. We are excited for you too.
