Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts started off the week with a 31-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. The loss dropped the Colts record to 6-6 on the season and all but eliminated the Colts from playoff contention. They signed kicker Chase McLaughlin who has kicked for the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams this season. Kicker Adam Vinateri, cornerback Kenny Moore, and wide receiver TY Hilton are inactive for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while wide receiver Parris Campbell and running back Marlon Mack will be returning to action. The team also signed tight end Jack Doyle to a three year extension worth $21 million. The Colts play Sunday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m. on CBS against the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers played four of their five game road trip this week. The Pacers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday by a score of 117-104. The blue and gold then picked up a 107-100 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Pacers traveled to Michigan next where they took on the Detroit Pistons on Friday, December 6. Indiana lost to the Motor City 108-101. The Pacers finished their road trip on Saturday, December 7 with a narrow 104-103 win over the New York Knicks. The blue and gold currently have a 15-8 record this. Guard Edmond Sumner returned from injury this week and has been available to play. Sumner had missed a considerable amount of time with a fractured left hand and has been rehabbing with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The Pacers play again Monday, December 9, against the Los Angeles Clippers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7:00 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Indiana and will be radio broadcast on 107.5 FM The Fan.
Indiana Fever
The Fever made two major moves in their front office two weeks ago. They hired Marianne Stanley as their next head coach. She has a record of 26-40 as a WNBA head coach and is a member of Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. The Fever also hired Tamika Catchings as the new general manager. Catchings is the only Fever player to have her number retired and led the Fever to a WNBA Finals Championship in 2009.
Fort Wayne Mad Ants
The Fort Wayne Mad Ants played three games this week. The Mad Ants held off the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Monday, December 2, to come away with a 113-111 victory. Then, on Thursday, December 5, the Mad Ants played a triple overtime thriller against the Erie Bayhawks. Unfortunately, Fort Wayne could not come away with the win as they lost 131-124. The Mad Ants finished off the week strong as they defeated the Raptors 905 by a score of 102-101 on Saturday, December 7. Fort Wayne has a 3-9 record on the season. The Mad Ants are back in action on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m. against the Lakeland Magic. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
Indy Eleven
Indianapolis’ soccer club was busy this week. The club picked up the contract options on defender Mitch Osmond, midfielder Lucas Farias, and midfielder Macauley King. The Indy Eleven signed veteran forward Carl Haworth and midfielder Nick Moon this week as well.
Indy Fuel
The Indy Fuel played two games this week. They lost at home to the Cincinnati Cyclones by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday, December 3, but got revenge on the Cyclones on Thursday, December 5, as they defeated Cincinnati 2-1 at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Indy’s record for the season is 9-12. The Fuel’s next game is Tuesday, December 10, against the Kansas City Mavericks. You can catch the Fuel at home again on Thursday, December 12, as they take on the Toledo Walleye at 7:05 p.m.
