I will not lie to you, tomorrow does not look great Colts fans. Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs’ powerhouse offense are facing a depleted Indianapolis Colts’ defense. The Colts will be without starting linebacker Darius Leonard for a third straight week and both starting safeties, Clayton Geathers and Malik Hooker, will not be available either. How can I convince you to watch this game that will likely feature Mahomes lighting up the Colts’ secondary? Two words: Justin Houston.

The University of Georgia Alumnus, Justin Houston, is going to have himself a game against the Chiefs. So far this season, the defensive end has eleven tackles, seven of those being solo, and one sack. Overall, underwhelming numbers for the Colts’ big free agent signing this past offseason, but I expect that to change this week. Why is that? Well, after eight seasons, four Pro-Bowls and one All-Pro selection, Justin Houston was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs. In the 2018 season Houston played twelve games, had nine sacks, and five forced fumbles. Those do not seem like the statistics of a man that needs to be cut.
I have a friend who is big into autographs and he told me that Houston would not sign anything at training camp that was related to the Chiefs and that he was now all about the Colts. This is Justin Houston’s revenge game, make no doubt about it. I expect him to put pressure on Mahomes all day, disrupt the play at the line, and add a couple of sacks to this season’s total.
Do I think the Colts are going to win this one? Not by a long shot. Do I think that the Colts' fans will have a new found respect for the former Georgia Bulldog? Absolutely.
Chris, as a lifetime UGA fan, I totally agree with your assessment on the havoc that Justin Houston is going to wreak on the Chiefs. Go Dawgs! Go Colts!
